How WatchPoint collects, uses, and protects your information.

Last updated: August 17, 2026

01Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how WatchPoint ("WatchPoint," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards information when you use our mobile application (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

02Information we collect

WatchPoint does not require you to create an account and does not collect your name or email address. We collect the following categories of information:

  • Watch images and identifiers — photos you submit for authentication, along with any serial numbers or reference numbers you enter for lookup.
  • Usage and device data — app interactions, device type, operating system, and crash or performance logs, collected automatically through standard analytics and crash-reporting tools.
  • Purchase information — records of report purchases and subscription status, processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play billing systems and linked to your device or App Store/Google account, not to a WatchPoint account.

03No account required

WatchPoint works without sign-up. Your scans, reports, and purchase history are associated with your device and App Store/Google Play account rather than a name or email address on file with us. If you switch devices or reinstall the App, past reports may not carry over unless they're restored through your App Store/Google Play purchase history.

03Photos & watch data

When you submit a photo for authentication, it is processed by our AI systems to analyze authenticity markers such as dial details, case finishing, and engravings. Serial and reference numbers you enter are used to look up model, production year, and valuation information.

Note — Submitted photos and report data are stored to your account so you can revisit past reports, and are not made public or shared with other users.

05How we use information

We use collected information to:

  • Provide authentication, identification, and valuation results
  • Generate and store your PDF reports on your device
  • Maintain and improve the accuracy of our AI models
  • Process purchases and manage subscriptions through Apple/Google billing
  • Diagnose crashes, fix bugs, and understand app performance through analytics

06Sharing & third parties

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:

  • Service providers who help us operate the App, including analytics and crash-reporting providers, and cloud infrastructure used to run our AI models.
  • Apple / Google, who process payments for in-app purchases and subscriptions on our behalf.
  • Legal authorities, where required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the public.

Reports you choose to export as a PDF are shared only when and with whom you decide to send them.

07Purchases & subscriptions

All report purchases and subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, in accordance with their respective terms and privacy practices. We do not directly collect or store your payment card details — this is handled entirely by Apple or Google, and tied to your App Store/Google account rather than a WatchPoint account.

08Data retention

Submitted photos and generated reports are retained on your device and, where applicable, associated with your App Store/Google Play purchase history so they remain available if you reinstall the App. Analytics and crash data are retained only as long as needed to diagnose issues and improve the App, and are not linked to your identity.

09Your rights & choices

Because we don't collect your name or email address, most of your data lives on your device and within your own reports. You can delete individual reports or all app data at any time from within the App, or by uninstalling it. Depending on your location, you may also have additional rights over any information processed on our behalf by third-party services — see the contact details below.

10Security

We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11Children's privacy

WatchPoint is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

12International users

Your information may be processed and stored in countries other than your own. By using the App, you consent to the transfer of your information to these locations, which may have different data protection laws than your jurisdiction.

13Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above, and where appropriate, through an in-app notice.
